Circles have been an important part of interim ministry with the two congregations that make up the Elmsdale Pastoral Charge. We have held Listening Circles, we are looking at a new model of governance that is circular, and now, throughout Lent, the sanctuary at Riverview United has been rearranged.

Tomorrow, people will be sitting in curved rows, in an open circle, facing towards the communion table, which is in the center. Some won’t like the change, it will feel like a wilderness experience, and ‘their’ spot won’t be there. I am going to invite them to simply sit (!) with their discomfort, to just let it be.
