The words of the hymn Great is Thy Faithfulness came to mind as I pondered my word for the day, especially this verse:
Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon, and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love.
The faithfulness of the earth, the turning of the seasons, seasons of growth and harvest and fallow. The earth, when not mistreated, when we work in conjunction with it, has an endless ability to provide for our needs, not all our wants, but our needs.
Great is thy faithfulness indeed!
