Star Words – Starwards

This is what 500 Star Word Bookmarks look like!

A few years ago I was introduced to the idea of a ‘Star Word’ through one of the RevGals: Marci Auld Glass, click on the link to get to her great blog. She introduced me to the idea of drawing a star as your word for the year. I don’t remember the word she drew for me that year, but I was immediately captivated by the idea of it and shared it with my congregation a couple of years ago on my last Sunday with them.

The following year, I gave my new congregation star words on my first Sunday with them. This year, I have made bookmarks to hand out to everyone on Christmas Eve, with an invitation to come back and here some ‘Star Stories’ from the congregation in January. I asked a variety of people in my two congregations if they had thought about their word over the past year, what impact it had on them, and if they would be willing to speak about it on a Sunday in January. I am looking forward to hearing stories of release, belief and miracles. If you would like me to draw a star word for you, let me know in the comments.

May the star that shone over Bethlehem that night, shine brightly in your heart all year long.

  2. Thanks Catherine I think I’ll stick with my “joy ” star from last Dec. I like the lift it gives me when I feel it in my pocket reminding me to be joyful, and spread and share joy! Merry Christmas!
I’ve washed it a few times too!
