I attended the Atlantic School of Theology’s Convocation today. It’s been 14 years since I was one of those eager graduates, just waiting to take on ministry in a new way and the first time I have attended one since then. I was surprisingly moved at the pomp and ceremony and the glow of excitement that emanated from the graduates faces. In my role as Chair of the Pinehill Board of Governors, I felt privileged to process in with faculty, students, and various other representatives. Inspiring messages from the Honourable Mayann Francis who received an honorary doctorate, from President Neale Bennet and from class valedictorian Patrick Woolbeck and an incredible original drum solo by graduate David Atwood. It was also a great opportunity to connect with colleagues, former classmates and professors. So glad I went!
Lunch and a long natter with a long time friend, fellow AST alum and ministry colleague! You can tell our age… we haven’t mastered the fine art of looking at the camera lens while taking a selfie!
Then trying my hand at family photography at Point Pleasant Park! A colleague asked me if I ever did family pictures, which I have not! But I and they were game. We shall see how they turn out.
A day filled with memories, inspiration, hope and laughs.
And that’s my window on God’s world.
