Wednesday was hard, God.
Adrenaline rush of getting new systems up and running gone, body, mind and spirit depleted.
Wednesday was hard God.
Food bank clients waiting outside instead of warm inside with coffee and conversation buzzing.
Wednesday was hard, God.
Offering pastoral care with six feet of cold winter air between us.
Wednesday was hard, God.
Picking up medication at the pharmacy and the fear on the clerk’s face as I forgetfully stepped too close to the counter.
Wednesday was hard, God.
Tears shed as I listened to stories from across the country of other community ministries and the impact of this virus on the most vulnerable.
Wednesday was hard, God.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Home a sanctuary as well as a workplace.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Food Bank volunteers cheerfully and lovingly carried out new protocols to keep them and the clients safe.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Being able to reassure food bank clients that we would do our best to remain open.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Realizing once again that I have a lot of control over my own schedule and recorded a couple of webinars instead of attending live.
And Wednesday was good God.
Going to the grocery store for the first time in 10 days and witnessing the dedication and good humour of the staff who are working so hard to keep us safe.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Food, clothing, shelter and love.
And Wednesday was good, God.
Zoom, Zoom, Zoom.
Wednesday was good, God.
